1 day off

there was an invitation to this International Muslim Culture Exhibition 2011 in NTUST, Taipei. i was curious how muslim in taiwan present our religion to others. i mean, very few of taiwanese know about Muslim including my roommates.
we had 1 day off on last wednesday. so i decided to go here with five of my friends.

we supposed to gathered in front of ILCC building at 9 am. i was a bit late, because i went sleep very late like at 3 am, but then when i get to ILCC building, there was only one of my friends. where's the others??? ahh~~ the boys TT

while waiting for them, i took some pics of the sport event at that day. but i'm not sure about this event, when we were there, there was a bunch people grouping and standing around the field, but nothing to do there. n it was drizzling. i think u should learn from the expert, indonesian, we use 'pawang hujan' for important date like this. haha.

after the ceremony

balloon decoration at main gate

At 10.00 we finally get ready to go. we took train from Neili to Taipei. we arrived about 40 mins to taipei main station (TMS). from there we should take another MRT to reach NTUST.

Gongguan station (the nearest MRT station to NTUST)

took some pics on the way to NTUST.....

finally we arrived!

about the exhibition...

an information of haram n halal food

Hajj (pilgrim to Mecca)

this, for those who want to try wearing a hijab. some foreigners and taiwanese were interested to try. n they were looking good on it:)

musical performance.. i think they are indonesians. so many indonesian students in NTUST, but too many i guess. not cool.
it was not a big exhibition, but the main idea of this event was to introduce our religion to others. so..two thumbs up for this event. i hope someday we can organize one in our campus.

After taking a free lunch at the exhibition, we walk around NTUST campus.
on the way back to TMS, someone suddenly said "let's stop by at C.K.S memorial hall station". so there we were..

I always free on Wednesday, except that now i got a new job as a TA in morning class at 7-9 am..but the rest of the day, i am free.
that day, which was a great-sunny day to had a walk after 7 days non-stop rainy, i had planned to this event called Eurasian music concert: Silk road encounter. an across cultural musical group compose of 6 members from France, Taiwan, n Macedonia.
i asked my roommate to come with me. She had class at 2-5 pm.. so when i was waiting for her n her labmates. i saw another music live concert near my dorm.. got a few pictures of it. n here also, they sell second hand things; clothes, coat, accessories, gift cards n other female things ;)

After had a dinner, we decided to stick on the plan, watch the Eurasian music concert in YZU building 6. But then we found out, this is an indoor concert, n not so many ppl there. i just took some pictures of them then leave the concert..

it's 2 AM now. n it's Saturday! i love weekend... but last weekend i got so bored in my room bcause the weather was rainy like 7 days in a row. just hoping for a sunny day today, so i can keep updating this blog! Zaijian!!

Dinner Party

Dinner party at Ya-Row Restaurant, 2011年11月3日.. The party was held by Frank, a student leader for the freshman year..
I went there with my classmates; Jeyhun, Alfi, and Anurag..
The dinner was at 6pm, but we came late because i had chinese exam 6 - 7pm at that day..

The freshman year

Our main dish: all seafood and tofu and veggies..
but Wow... the food was way too much.. Frank, as our leader, was afraid if we didn't get enough food, so he ordered this much,, n do u know how much was it cost?? NT 2000!! for us only, the late comers.. it's too costly, n we only prepared NT 200/person for the budget. so the others decided to collect the money n help us to pay. ahhhh you guys are so nice, thanks for the treat.

Jeyhun - Alfi - me

We were done. Such a waste..
but then, the boys (Alfi, Jeyhun, n Anurag) took all the leftover food home :D and they had another party after this party at their dorm, smart guys!

Meet new Taiwanese friends.. time to get to know more each other

The girls...

Ganbeiiii!!.. thanks for welcoming us to the party!! :)

Discover Taipei Trip

Midterm* is over, happy me!
so we were going on trip to celebrate it... ILCC was arranging the trip for us and luckily they provide us, international students, with the english tour guide.
*) i only have one MIS quiz, one Chinese exam, and one E-marketing presentation. not that hard actually XD

After a short ride we arrived in Taipei... First place, Presidential Office Building....

The group in front of the Presidential Office Building

The army man! poor guy.. he had to stand there for 2-hrs doing nothing like statue

Presidential Office Building from far

The nation father, CMIIW please, coz i didn't really listening to what our tour guide said ><

The dancing show inside

With the dancers

Second place, Taipei Guest House.. It has two styles of garden; modern West n Japanese style.

Modern West style

Japanese style

Enjoy sitting and taking a pics with some friends in Japanese style garden

The black swans.. They are looking good together:")

Third place, lunch in a nice restaurant. We seat on the table as arranged. I like the idea with mixing up our seat table, so that we can meet and interact with some new friends.
We are the vegetarian people;) I'm not pure vegetarian though, just prefer to be since i'm here in Taiwan.

Fourth place, National Palace Museum...
This place was so crowded at that time, too many people. At first, I wasn’t really enjoyed here. Some of us were lost from our tour guide and decided to look around by ourselves. But then we found that the scenery outside of the museum was awesome and I started enjoying the atmosphere.

The gate of National Palace Museum

The five legendaries?? haha anyway I do like this photo! i think it's cool.. (pic taken by Wiliam)

Fifth place.. The closing of the trip was taking a dinner at Niu Chie BBQ restaurant in Taoyuan. We seat with the same people as in lunch, so we get closer with each other by then.

The trip was great. I had so much fun and I think NT 500 was all worth it for the trip (ticket, bus, and especially the food).
